Tips for Better Use
Before You Start
To avoid making a mess, assemble and run your NasoNeb® Sinus Therapy System without liquid to become familiar with its operation.
Positioning the Cup
The nasal tip should be positioned inside the nostril, away from the septum (middle of your nose). Lightly pulling the nasal tip towards the front of your nose so that the tip of your nose moves upward slightly may achieve a deeper delivery. You should experiment to get the proper angle for your nose.
Getting used to the NasoNeb® System
To avoid wasting expensive medications*, use only saline until you become comfortable using the system - usually 1 to 2 uses.
Keep your mouth open slightly when using the NasoNeb® System
You want the air to exit your mouth as it blows into your nose. Placing the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth will help pull mist into your nasal cavity.
The Nasal Tip should be inserted fully in your nostril
The mist will reach to the back of the nasal cavity when the nebulizer cup is in the proper position.
Avoid being sprayed
To avoid being sprayed by your NasoNeb® Sinus Therapy System, do not turn on the compressor until the nasal tip is properly inserted into the nose. Do not remove the nasal tip from the nose until the compressor is turned off.
There is no spray
If the nasal tip fails to connect, bubbles or pops up, the jet may be clogged. Put the end of the tubing over the tip to clear any particles causing an obstruction. Saline may crystallize on the tip if it is not thoroughly cleaned.
Foam in the Cup
Some solutions or medications* may leave foam in the cup, this is very normal. Simply stop the treatment when only foam is left in the cup.
Irrigation
Physicians guide towards irrigating your nasal cavity before delivering medication* in your nose. Put 5ml or more of saline in the cup for each nostril. It is normal in this case, for liquid to come back out your nostrils.
